‘After Fela, Wizkid is the Greatest Afrobeats Artist’ – Olamide Baddo

Ace Nigerian rapper Olamide has hailed Grammy-winning singer Wizkid as the greatest Afrobeats artist following the late music legend Fela Kuti.

Baddo, as Olamide is fondly known, made the remark while celebrating his multiple collaborations with Wizkid during a recent press conference in Canada.

“I am blessed to have collaborated with Wizkid on several occasions. You know, Wizkid is the greatest Afrobeats artist ever after Fela,” he said.

Olamide added that his collaborations with Wizkid go beyond career leverage, highlighting that their partnership thrives on musical harmony and chemistry.

His bold declaration has since sparked a lively debate on social media, with fans weighing in on who truly deserves the title of greatest Afrobeats artist after Fela.

Previously, Nigerian superstar Burna Boy had declared himself the greatest African artist after Fela, while Davido has repeatedly referred to himself as the “King of Afrobeats.”

Since Olamide’s statement, fans of Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy have been passionately debating the hierarchy of modern Afrobeats legends.
