Gurugram: In a late-night incident, two unidentified men allegedly broke into a Gurugram guest house housing Air India crew members and stole valuables from four women, police said. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, between 2:15 am and 2:30 am, at the airline’s leased accommodation in Sector 42.

How the burglary occurred
Preliminary reports suggest that the suspects scaled the first-floor balcony from an empty adjoining plot and confronted two trainee crew members. They demanded their belongings, prompting the frightened women to hand over watches, cash, and jewellery before the men fled the scene.

Police response
Gurugram police confirmed that a case has been registered, but clarified that it has been recorded as a theft, not robbery, following a complaint filed by the guest house management on Friday.

“The theft took place from two rooms of the guest house. The crew members have claimed cash, jewellery, and electronic items were stolen,” a senior police officer said.

Authorities are investigating the incident and reviewing any available security footage to trace the culprits. No arrests have been reported so far.

The incident has raised concerns about the security of leased accommodations for airline staff in Gurugram, highlighting the need for stricter surveillance and preventive measures in such residential complexes.
