Ambrose Alli University Community Witnesses Student Protest Over Rising Kidnappings

A group of students staged a peaceful protest in Ekpoma, Esan West LGA, to demand urgent action over the rising insecurity and kidnappings around Ambrose Alli University (AAU). The protest was prompted by the recent abduction of a student, Akhabhe Favour, and a former student union leader.

The demonstrators, led by Andrew Oziegbe, urged security agencies and government authorities to take decisive measures to halt the worsening security situation, warning that continued inaction could endanger students and residents.

University Management Responds:
AAU management, through Otunba Mike Ade Aladenika, distanced the institution from the protest, stating that those involved were not registered students and had no authority to represent the university. The university emphasized that it would take steps to maintain order and protect its interests.
