Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has praised the unwavering support of former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Prince Solagbade Amodeni, during his impeachment saga.

Speaking on Friday at a reception in honor of Amodeni’s 70th birthday and the commissioning of the Golden Garden Event Centre and Vaults in Akure, the state capital, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the ex-commissioner as a loyal and steadfast ally who remained resolute amid political turbulence.

Aiyedatiwa recounted how Amodeni stood by him when many others walked away, highlighting his commitment to truth and justice:

“I didn’t invite him or ask for his support, but he took it upon himself to rally people and issue press statements to defend the truth, and that helped to change public perception of what really happened.”

The governor expressed gratitude to the APC stalwart for his solidarity during the political trials, stressing that politics should be anchored on principles and trust, not opportunism or betrayal.

He further described Prince Amodeni as a man of courage, principle, and enterprise, noting his significant contributions to both governance and private enterprise in Ondo State.
