Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Thursday condemned the November 10 Delhi blast, calling it a “terror act orchestrated by anti-national forces” aimed at disturbing peace and derailing India’s progress.
Speaking to ANI, Rao said the attack was carried out “at the behest of Pakistan and its supporters,” and praised the efforts of India’s security and intelligence agencies for “unearthing the real plot” behind the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort that claimed 12 lives and injured several others.
“The blast is an act of terror carried out by anti-national forces. The government of India has confirmed this activity. These forces are trying to disturb the country’s peace and progress, and the blast is engineered by people supporting Pakistani and Jihadi elements,” Rao said.
He commended the swift investigation being conducted by multiple agencies, calling it “one of the best investigations”and a testament to India’s capability to respond decisively to terrorism.
“We appreciate our investigating agencies that have unearthed the real plot and brought several facts to the people’s knowledge,” he said.
Appeals for Public Vigilance and Responsible Online Conduct
The BJP leader also appealed to the public to avoid spreading misinformation or rumours regarding the blast, urging citizens to remain vigilant and responsible on social media.
“The nation should stand with the government of India to curb such activities and ensure that the real culprits are punished under the law,” Rao said.
“People must also be very alert, as well as positive, while posting anything on social media.”
His remarks come amid a coordinated nationwide effort to monitor and curb the spread of false or inflammatory posts related to the Red Fort blast. Assam Police alone have arrested 15 individuals for allegedly making offensive comments or glorifying the attack online.
Ongoing Investigation Expands to Faridabad and Kanpur
Meanwhile, the investigation into the Delhi blast continues to widen. The Faridabad Police on Thursday detained a man identified as Faheem, who allegedly parked the red Ford EcoSport linked to the case in the Khandwali area.
According to officials, the vehicle is owned by Dr Umar Un Nabi, the suspected mastermind of the blast. Faheem is believed to be a relative of Dr Umar and was in touch with him shortly before the explosion.
Police seized the EcoSport on Wednesday after tracing it to a farmhouse near Faridabad. Investigators suspect the car was used either for reconnaissance or as part of the escape plan.
Separately, the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) detained a medical student, Mohammad Arif, from Kanpur, for his alleged links to Dr Shaheen Saeed, another key suspect in the case.
Background: The Red Fort Blast
The November 10 blast occurred when a white Hyundai i20 car exploded near the Red Fort complex during rush hour, killing 12 and injuring several others. Investigators have since traced connections to multiple vehicles and individuals across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, pointing to a larger terror module possibly linked to Pakistan-based outfits.
The Delhi Police, NIA, and intelligence agencies continue to coordinate the probe, focusing on the network of medical professionals and students suspected of aiding the plot.
As investigations deepen, political leaders across the spectrum have called for unity and public restraint. Rao’s statement adds to a growing chorus urging citizens to support law enforcement and reject divisive narratives in the aftermath of one of the most serious terror attacks in the national capital in recent years.
