A senior APC leader in Jigawa State, Auwalu Gumel, has commended Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Nigeria’s immediate past Minister of Defence, for his efforts in tackling insecurity during his tenure.

Gumel noted that:

• Despite his civilian background, Badaru showed dedication and understanding of Nigeria’s security challenges.
• Some groups, allegedly politically motivated, criticized him unfairly.
• Badaru remains committed to Nigeria’s security and supports President Tinubu’s administration.

Badaru resigned recently and was replaced by former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, who was screened and confirmed by the Senate on Wednesday.
