APC Chieftain Urges Security Agencies to Hunt Killers of Emiko Onuwaje

Ayirimi Emami, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, has called on Nigerian security agencies to track down the killers of Emiko Onuwaje, a community leader in Warri South-West Local Government Area.

Emami made the appeal on Monday while condemning Onuwaje’s killing over the weekend by an angry mob in Warri. Describing the act as deeply regrettable and unacceptable, he lamented that such violence could occur over minor disagreements and stressed that it has no place in the community.

Speaking after visiting the bereaved family, Emami urged residents of Ugborodo to remain calm and law-abiding, and to unite against criminal elements threatening the community. He emphasized that ongoing development efforts in the Ugborodo Federated Communities must not be undermined by violent actions.

“I urge our people to remain calm and allow police and other law enforcement agencies to get to the root of the killing of this innocent man and ultimately fish out the culprits. Our cry is for justice for the dead and the bereaved family,” he said.

Emami also warned against instigating crises that could lead to a breakdown of law and order, noting that such actions would not bring back the deceased.
