Army Chief Urges Troops to Sustain Pressure on Terrorists in North-East

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has directed troops of Operation Hadin Kai to remain vigilant and maintain an aggressive stance in counter-terrorism operations across the North-East.

The directive was issued during an operational assessment visit to the Joint Task Force (JTF) headquarters in Maiduguri, Borno State, aimed at reviewing the security situation, evaluating ongoing operations, and strengthening cooperation with other security agencies.

Shaibu commended the troops for their resilience but warned against complacency. The statement from JTF’s Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, quoted him:

“Troops must sustain vigilance, avoid complacency, and maintain an aggressive posture in ongoing operations against terrorists in the North-East.”

The COAS also met theatre commanders, emphasizing improved coordination, intelligence gathering, and operational aggressiveness to deny insurgents freedom of action.

During the visit, Theatre Commander Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar briefed Shaibu on current activities, emerging threats, and operational challenges on the frontlines.
