
Somerset County Cricket Club has confirmed the signing of Australian all-rounder Daniel Sams as one of their overseas players for the 2026 T20 Blast. The 33-year-old is a proven T20 specialist with experience across all the major franchise leagues worldwide, and his addition is set to strengthen Somerset’s squad as they aim to defend their Vitality Blast title.
Daniel Sams’ Global T20 Experience
Daniel Sams has established himself as a prominent figure in T20 cricket, having competed in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Australia’s Big Bash League (BBL), and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Over his career, he has played 206 T20 matches, taking 250 wickets at an average of 24.63, including a career-best of 5-30.
In addition to his bowling prowess, Sams is a capable lower-order batter, amassing 2,170 runs with a career-high of 98 not out, highlighting his ability to contribute as a genuine all-rounder.
Sams has also represented Australia in the T20 format, earning 10 international caps, with his last appearance against England in Perth in October 2022.
