Ayodhya on High Alert Ahead of New Year: Drones, CCTV, and Strict Security Measures Deployed

Ayodhya is under heightened security ahead of New Year celebrations as a large number of devotees continue to arrive for darshan at Ayodhya Dham. With the influx of visitors, authorities have implemented extensive safety measures to maintain law and order and prevent untoward incidents in the temple town.

Sector-Wise Security Deployment

Circle Officer Ashutosh Tiwari outlined the comprehensive arrangements to ANI, stating that Ayodhya Dham has been divided into multiple sectors and zones, with security personnel deployed systematically in each area. This sector-wise deployment ensures continuous monitoring and quick response to any emergency situation.

Surveillance and Monitoring

To enhance vigilance, authorities are relying heavily on technology. CCTV cameras have been installed across sensitive locations, and drones are being used for aerial surveillance. These measures aim to monitor crowds, identify suspicious activity, and ensure rapid intervention if needed.

Additionally, all incoming vehicles are being thoroughly checked, and tinted films on windows are being removed to maintain visibility. Authorities have emphasized that these measures are precautionary and meant to safeguard both pilgrims and residents.

Strict Road Safety Measures

Police teams are conducting breath analyser tests to curb drunk driving, while traffic management teams are prepared to divert vehicles whenever necessary to ease congestion. The focus on road safety is particularly important given the large number of visitors expected to converge in the city during the New Year period.

Preventive Measures in Bhopal

Similar stringent measures are being enforced in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, where police personnel are conducting thorough checks ahead of New Year 2026 celebrations. Vehicles are being screened to prevent the illegal transportation of liquor and narcotics, and bars and restaurants are being closely monitored to ensure compliance with regulations.

ACP MP Nagar, Manish Bhardwaj, told ANI that bar and restaurant operators have been instructed to adhere strictly to closing times on the night of December 31 and to immediately inform police in case of any unrest. These measures are aimed at preventing incidents that could compromise public safety during large gatherings.

Rationale for Tight Security

Authorities have emphasized that the high-security measures are necessary to maintain law and order, protect devotees, and ensure a safe environment for celebrations. With large crowds expected in both Ayodhya and Bhopal, officials are taking proactive steps to manage traffic, monitor public spaces, and prevent any activities that could pose risks to the public.

The deployment of drones, CCTV surveillance, breath analysers, and sector-wise police teams highlights the increasing use of technology and strategic planning in crowd management and public safety during major events. These precautions are intended to allow citizens and devotees to celebrate the New Year in a secure and orderly manner.

Conclusion

As India prepares to welcome 2026, the high alert in Ayodhya and Bhopal demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to ensuring public safety. With combined efforts from law enforcement, technological monitoring, and strict adherence to safety norms, the celebrations are expected to proceed smoothly while minimizing risks associated with large gatherings.
