FC Barcelona have officially announced an extended partnership with Spotify, ensuring the global music streaming giant remains the club’s main shirt sponsor through 2030, and retains naming rights to the Spotify Camp Nou until 2034.
This long-term deal continues one of football’s most influential brand collaborations, first signed in 2022, and is set to significantly strengthen Barcelona’s commercial and financial position amid the ongoing Espai Barça stadium renovation.
Details of the Extended Barcelona–Spotify Partnership
Under the renewed agreement:
- Spotify will remain Barcelona’s main shirt sponsor for both the men’s and women’s teams, covering matchday and training kits until 2030.
- The Camp Nou naming rights deal, which began in 2022, has been extended until 2034, ensuring the venue continues to be known as Spotify Camp Nou.
Although official figures have not yet been confirmed, Barcelona’s previous contract with Spotify was worth around €65 million per season — including a €57.5 million base fee and performance-based bonuses.
The new terms are expected to increase the annual value, as Barcelona were seeking up to €120 million per year across sponsorship categories. However, Spotify reportedly exercised an extension clause within the existing deal, securing favorable renewal terms while increasing the base payment to €65 million and adding €15 million for full training kit sponsorship.
Camp Nou Naming Rights: Extended Until 2034
The stadium naming rights portion of the partnership — worth €20 million per season before the stadium’s temporary closure — remains key to Barcelona’s financial recovery.
Due to ongoing renovation works at the Spotify Camp Nou, Barcelona are currently playing home matches at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. As a result, the annual naming rights fee temporarily drops to €5 million until the club returns to Camp Nou at 90% capacity.
Spotify also retains a termination clause allowing it to end the agreement if the club does not return to Camp Nou by 2028. However, progress on the Espai Barça project suggests that Barcelona will meet this target.
A Vital Boost for Barcelona’s Finances
This extension represents a critical financial boost as Barcelona aim to stabilize their accounts and complete their €1.5 billion stadium redevelopment. The project, when completed, will transform the Spotify Camp Nou into a 105,000-seat super-stadium, making it the largest in Europe and third-largest in the world.
The renewed deal reinforces Barcelona’s reputation as a global commercial powerhouse, following record revenues of nearly €1 billion in 2024–25. The partnership’s longevity also highlights Spotify’s satisfaction with the collaboration, which has combined football and music culture in innovative ways — from artist-themed kits to curated playlists connecting global fans.
President Joan Laporta’s Role and Future Ambitions
Barcelona president Joan Laporta is expected to provide further details about the contract during the upcoming General Assembly. The club’s leadership views the Spotify partnership as a cornerstone of its financial recovery and long-term sustainability strategy.
Laporta’s administration continues to prioritize rebuilding Barcelona’s financial stability through strategic partnerships while maintaining success on the pitch under manager Xavi Hernández.
