The Bauchi State Government has declared Friday, November 28, 2025, a work-free day to honour the late Islamic scholar, Dahiru Usman-Bauchi, who passed away on Thursday.

The announcement was made by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Governor Bala Mohammed. The state government said the decision allows public and private sector workers, students, and residents to attend the scholar’s funeral prayer and pay their last respects.

The funeral prayer is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.
