Big Brother Naija alum, Queen Mercy Atang, has confirmed the end of her one-year marriage.

The reality star, who is a single mother, tied the knot with David Oyekanmi in March 2024, amid ongoing public disputes with her child’s father, skit maker Lord Lamba.

Rumors of marital trouble began a few months after the wedding when Mercy unfollowed her husband on Instagram and removed their wedding photos. At the time, she explained, “I was trying to take my marriage off social media and reduce some of the things I put out there.”

However, on Wednesday, she confirmed her separation while responding to a fan comment on Instagram. After sharing a picture from the burial of actress Mercy Aigbe’s mother, a fan asked, “Queen, hope you are still married because asa, you are too beautiful to be single.” Mercy replied simply, “Single and unavailable.”

This response appears to mark the official confirmation of her marital split.
