Boeing to Supply 96 AH-64E Apache Helicopters to Poland in $4.7 Billion Contract

WASHINGTON/BERLIN, November 27, 2025Boeing (BA.N) has announced that it will manufacture AH-64E Apache attack helicopters for international customers, including 96 aircraft for the Polish Armed Forces, under a $4.7 billion foreign military sales contract awarded by the U.S. Army. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2028, marking the largest order of Apache helicopters outside the United States in the program’s history.

Details of Poland’s Apache Helicopter Order

The contract covers 96 AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, which will significantly enhance Poland’s combat aviation capabilities. The Polish Ministry of National Defence currently leases eight Apache helicopters from the U.S. Army and is already training pilots and maintenance personnel in preparation for the full delivery.

Boeing noted that more than 1,300 Apaches are operational globally, making it one of the most widely used attack helicopters worldwide. The Polish acquisition reflects a broader trend of NATO countries modernizing their air combat fleets amid rising security concerns in Europe.

Boeing’s Recent International Defense Contracts

In addition to Poland, Boeing has been delivering new Apache helicopters to several international defense forces, including:

  • The Australian Army
  • The Indian Army
  • The Royal Moroccan Air Force

Earlier this week, the Pentagon awarded Boeing two contracts totaling over $7 billion. Alongside the $4.7 billion Apache deal, Boeing also secured a $2.4 billion contract for Lot 12 Production Aircraft for the U.S. Air Force, including subscriptions and licenses.

Strategic Significance

Poland’s investment in the AH-64E Apache helicopter represents a major step in the country’s military modernization program, improving its attack and reconnaissance capabilities. The AH-64E variant features advanced avionics, sensors, and weapons systems, enabling precision strikes and enhanced battlefield situational awareness.

For Boeing, the contract reinforces its position as a leading global supplier of attack helicopters and demonstrates strong foreign military sales growth, supporting NATO allies and key international partners.

Outlook

Deliveries of the Polish Apache helicopters are expected to begin in 2028, and training programs for pilots and maintainers will continue in parallel. This milestone order highlights both Boeing’s technological leadership in attack aviation and Poland’s commitment to strengthening its armed forces amid regional security challenges.
