BREAKING: Atiku Abubakar Officially Joins ADC

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has formally joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a major shift in Nigeria’s political landscape.

Atiku completed his registration at Jada Ward 1 in Jada Local Government Area of Adamawa State, officially sealing his move after resigning from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in July amid prolonged internal crises.

His entry into the ADC follows the recent announcement by former Interior Minister Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who on November 19 began his own registration and membership validation process. Aregbesola had urged party members and new supporters to formalize their membership, noting he had completed his own symbolic registration in Ilesa East, Osun State.

Atiku confirmed the news on Monday via his official X handle, posting a photo of himself holding his ADC membership card with the caption: “It’s official.”

The former vice president had earlier backed the adoption of the ADC as a coalition platform for opposition forces ahead of the 2027 presidential election, positioning the party as a potential rallying point for rivals of President Bola Tinubu.
