BREAKING: Fire Guts Foam Depot, Sparks Panic on Asa-Dam Road, Ilorin

A fire broke out on Wednesday at a house used for selling foams along Asa-Dam Road in Ilorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State, sparking panic among residents as flames rapidly spread to nearby buildings.

Video footage obtained by SaharaReporters shows the fire raging from behind the affected building and moving toward adjoining structures, sending thick smoke into the air. In the video, a man urgently called on residents to alert the fire service, warning that the blaze posed a serious threat to lives and property.

“Help us call the fire service to come. One house has been completely burnt by fire. There are people there and many houses around,” he said.

The man also raised concerns about a nearby filling station, noting the potential danger if the fire was not quickly contained. The building sold foams, a highly flammable material, which may have worsened the intensity of the fire.

As the flames spread, residents of neighboring houses were seen hurriedly moving their belongings to safety.

At the time of reporting, the cause of the fire remained unknown, and it was unclear whether firefighters arrived promptly. No casualties have been confirmed.
