The Nigerian Army has dismissed four soldiers serving in the North-East theatre of operations against Boko Haram for allegedly disobeying a standing order.
The affected personnel are:
- Mukaila Mutari – Service Number 22NA/88/10253
- Isah Emmanuel – Service Number 22NA/83/7262
- Kolomo Alex – Service Number 24NA/86/5151
- Ibrahim Musa – Service Number 24NA/86/0885
Photographs of the dismissed soldiers in desert camouflage uniforms were obtained by SaharaReporters on Wednesday. Their dismissal was officially dated Monday, November 17, 2025.
A standing order in military terms refers to a directive or procedure that remains effective until it is formally changed or withdrawn. The specific order allegedly violated by the soldiers has not yet been disclosed.
The dismissal occurred on the same day reports confirmed that Brigadier-General Musa Uba had been captured and killed by ISWAP terrorists.
Last Saturday, SaharaReporters reported that senior military officials, including Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, visited the Damboa military base in Borno State to coordinate rescue efforts for abducted personnel. The abductions followed a violent ISWAP ambush that left two soldiers and two Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members dead.
SaharaReporters also previously detailed how ISWAP fighters launched a late-night attack on a Nigerian military convoy, killing multiple soldiers and CJTF members in what appeared to be a well-coordinated assault.
