The United States has delivered critical military supplies to Nigerian security agencies to bolster ongoing counter-terrorism and security operations in the country.

The announcement was made by United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) on Tuesday via X, stating:

“US forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasizes our shared security partnership.”

Nigeria has recently experienced a surge in insecurity, including multiple kidnapping incidents, prompting increased collaboration with international partners. Notably, US forces conducted airstrikes on terrorist enclaves in North-West Nigeria on Christmas Day, reinforcing their commitment to combating extremism in the region.

The military aid underscores the ongoing security partnership between Nigeria and the United States and aims to enhance the operational capacity of Nigerian forces in addressing the country’s evolving security challenges.
