Guinness World Record holder and content creator Brian Nwana has been named TikTok Africa’s Storyteller of the Year, in recognition of his engaging and community-focused content.
Renowned for his energetic reviews and dedication to Nigeria’s food culture, Brian has built a brand around uncovering hidden culinary gems across Abuja, celebrating local eateries and the stories behind them.
Speaking about the award, he said:
“Every single creator is a storyteller. We all tell stories that help drive our local communities, our cities, and our countries. When we do that, we change how the world sees us.”
Reflecting on his journey, Brian revealed that his content was never initially motivated by awards or international recognition:
“When I started creating content, I just wanted to show people what Abuja had to offer — the amazing food, the creativity, and the places people often overlook. Breaking the Guinness World Record by visiting 150 restaurants in one day helped shine a big light on that. Now this TikTok award is doing the same. I’m honestly just grateful.”
Brian first gained widespread attention after setting the Guinness World Record for the Most Fast-Food Restaurant Visits in 24 Hours, a physically demanding challenge that highlighted both his dedication and his passion for promoting local businesses.
He also expressed appreciation for his support network:
“Sharing the nomination news with a close circle of friends and family made the moment even more meaningful. I’m thankful for the consistent support I’ve received since the early days of my career, and for my manager, Rhoda Kusimo Iloba, who has been instrumental in shaping my journey.”
With this latest recognition, Brian continues to cement his status as one of Abuja’s most influential creative voices, celebrated for his humour, authenticity, and love for the city.
From humble food reviews to global acclaim, Brian Nwana’s story exemplifies how passion, consistency, and community-driven storytelling can open doors to unexpected opportunities.
