Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has hailed China as a faithful and unwavering ally of Nigeria, praising the country for its support and cooperation with Nigerians.

In a post on his verified X handle on Wednesday, Sani commended China for welcoming Nigerian citizens and providing critical resources for the country’s infrastructure development.

His remarks follow China’s recent pledge of firm support to the Nigerian government amid threats of military action from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Sani highlighted China’s approach of refusing to stigmatize Nigerians as drug or cyber criminals, a stance he said is especially notable given that many Nigerians face visa restrictions or deportation in other countries, including some African nations.

He emphasized that China’s solidarity and defense of Nigeria’s sovereignty during challenging times will be remembered in the nation’s history.

The former lawmaker also appealed to China to avoid evaluating visa applicants based on their social media history, while urging Nigerians not to push the country toward adopting such policies.
