Popular Nigerian actress Bukola Arugba has publicly challenged Kwara State First Lady, Olufolake Abdulrazaq, over her characterization of the recent church attack in the state.
Reports indicate that a branch of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti LGA, Kwara State, was attacked by armed assailants during a live-streamed church program on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The attack left three people dead, and several worshippers, including the pastor, were abducted.
In a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday evening, Arugba criticized the First Lady for labeling the incident as an “attempted attack,” calling the description misleading and insensitive.
Arugba, a native of Eruku, revealed that three of her relatives—her aunt, Titi Balogun, and two cousins, Ebenezer and Aina—were among those abducted. She stressed that the attack was real, deadly, and successfully carried out by the terrorists, not merely an attempt as the First Lady suggested.
Addressing Olufolake Abdulrazaq directly, Arugba said:
“I read a press release on your page regarding the bandit attack in my hometown, which totally contradicts the sad truth. This involves my people directly. The live video shows exactly what happened. It was never an attempted attack but a successful attack. Three people are confirmed dead, many were hospitalized, and my relatives remain abducted.”
The actress’s video highlights the need for accurate reporting and urgent government action to address insecurity in Kwara State.
