Cihan Digital Academy, in collaboration with the SuccessGate Foundation, has trained 130 members of the Youth Fellowship of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, Surulere District Headquarters, in Artificial Intelligence (AI) skills during a two-day bootcamp.
The intensive sessions, held on November 15 and 22, saw participants build over 50 AI solutions and engage in hands-on projects. They applied AI to develop websites, create chatbots, analyze data, design infographics, produce video explainers, manage social media, and power customer support systems.
Speaking to journalists, the Chief AI Officer at Cihan Digital Academy, Dr. Celestine Achi, encouraged Nigerian youths to embrace AI to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving global economy. He emphasized that AI skills enable young people to create sustainable solutions for their communities, fostering self-reliance and collective economic growth.
“They didn’t just learn AI; they built the future. We didn’t just talk about AI—we built with it. AI adoption is unstoppable, and young people must embrace it or risk becoming obsolete,” Dr. Achi said.
Dr. Achi further noted that responsible AI training is vital to prevent misuse and highlighted the academy’s goal of equipping over 100,000 young Nigerians with AI-driven digital skills. So far, 5,633 youths in Lagos have benefited, with plans for nationwide expansion.
Prof. Abimbola Sowemimo, Founder of the SuccessGate Foundation, said the partnership complements the church’s vision of producing well-rounded youths, enhancing both their spiritual and professional capacities.
Apostle Kehinde Showemimo, Pastor of the Youth Fellowship, added that the church is committed to holistic youth development, with AI training serving as a tool to prepare young people for excellence in all spheres of life.
Participant Akinwande Eninlanioluwa praised the initiative, noting that it broadened her perspective and equipped her to contribute meaningfully to society. She encouraged other institutions to adopt similar programmes, emphasizing that “AI is here to stay.”
