CITN: Tax Reforms to Boost Compliance and Expand Tax Base

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) has affirmed that ongoing tax reforms will improve citizens’ standard of living, expand the tax base, and enhance compliance. CITN President, Innocent Ohagwa, stated this during the institute’s 58th induction ceremony, emphasizing the role of CITN in regulating taxation practices, enforcing discipline, and setting professional standards.

He encouraged new members to master current tax laws, invest in knowledge, and uphold ethical and professional standards. Special Guest Dr. Oladeji Akinyele highlighted the importance of being tech-savvy, policy-minded, ethical, and socially conscious, urging members to balance IQ, EQ, SQ, and AQ for success in the evolving tax landscape.
