The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Honourable Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has approved Akwa Ibom State to host the 2025 edition of the annual Judiciary Sports Competition, also known as the CJN Games.
Receiving members of the National Sports Association for Judiciary in her Abuja chambers, Justice Kekere-Ekun urged participants to uphold discipline, cooperation, and sportsmanship, warning against any behavior that could tarnish the image of the judiciary.
She emphasized the need for participants to be orderly and maintain composure, and reminded the Association of the importance of properly managing resources allocated for organizing the tournament.
The CJN also called on the male-dominated leadership of the Association to embrace gender inclusivity, jokingly warning that future approvals could be withheld if women are not included in executive positions.
Earlier, the National President of the Association, Mr. Noah Sunday, commended the CJN for approving this year’s tournament and pledged that participants would conduct themselves with integrity. He assured that Akwa Ibom State is ready to host the games.
According to a statement by Mr. Tobi Soniyi, Senior Special Assistant to the CJN on Media, highlights of the visit included the unveiling and presentation of the tournament trophy and sports kits to the Chief Justice.
