Comedian Bovi Shares Strategy to Secure Political Appointment from President Tinubu

Nigerian comedian Bovi Ugboma has disclosed his plan to secure a political appointment from President Bola Tinubu, citing examples of public figures who have previously benefited from a similar approach.

Speaking at his Abuja show “No Sting Attached,” Bovi highlighted that several individuals on the recent list of presidential nominees had previously criticized the president yet were considered for appointments. He referenced personalities such as Nyesom Wike, Reno Omokri, and Femi Fani-Kayode as examples of people who successfully leveraged critique to gain political favor.

With his trademark humor, Bovi noted that public figures who consistently praise President Tinubu, such as Seyi Law, have not received recognition or appointments.

Bovi revealed that his strategy involves offering critical commentary—even when he agrees with the president’s achievements—while adding his own unique perspective. He further hinted that his political ambitions extend beyond ministerial or ambassadorial roles, indicating a desire for even higher positions within the government.

Fan reactions were mixed. Some supported Bovi’s approach, pointing out that others, like Reno Omokri, had seen tangible results from such tactics. Others cautioned that the strategy does not guarantee success, urging him to manage expectations.
