
Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has been honored as the EFL Championship Manager of the Month for October, following a stellar run that propelled the Sky Blues to the top of the table.
Coventry Storm to the Top
Under Lampard’s guidance, Coventry secured 15 points from a possible 18 in October, winning five out of six matches and scoring an impressive 18 goals. The club’s attacking prowess and consistent performances have established them as genuine promotion contenders.
Since that exceptional month, Coventry have continued their momentum into November, stretching their lead at the top of the Championship to five points with back-to-back victories.
Lampard praised his squad and staff for the recognition, stating:
“I would like to thank all the staff and all the playing squad because you can’t win the individual awards without the hard work of everybody. It’s been a really good month and now we need to continue the hard work going forward.”
Double Celebration: Player of the Month
Coventry’s success in October wasn’t limited to Lampard’s award. Striker Brandon Thomas-Asante was named EFL Championship Player of the Month after scoring six goals in six matches, bringing his season tally to 10 goals, making him the joint top-scorer in the league.
The 26-year-old Ghanaian forward praised Lampard and the coaching staff:
“I’m super happy to win the award. It’s amazing to work with Frank and the rest of the Sky Blues coaching staff.”

Chair of the judging panel, Danny Wilson, highlighted Coventry’s exciting brand of football:
“Coventry were a fantastic team to watch, playing with a freedom their manager applauds and encourages.”
Lampard’s approach has combined tactical discipline with attacking flair, giving his team the confidence and momentum needed to challenge for Premier League promotion for the first time in 25 years.
