Los Angeles, CA – November 7, 2025 — Stranger Things star David Harbour is looking back at one of his most unforgettable — and hilariously “irresponsible” — moments on set with Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard.
The Emmy-nominated actor, who plays Chief Jim Hopper, attended the Stranger Things Season 5 world premiere in Los Angeles on November 6 alongside co-star Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven). The pair arrived together, sharing hugs and laughter on the red carpet — a fitting reflection of their real-life bond after a decade of working together.
A “Very Irresponsible” Day on Set
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE, Harbour, 50, revealed that one specific scene from Stranger Things Season 3 still makes him laugh to this day.
“If you watch the behind-the-scenes of Season 3, I’m sitting there with Finn and Millie on the bed. I’m very angry at Finn — because his character is in bed with my daughter — and I say, ‘You’ve got to get home.’ He goes, ‘Why? What’s the matter?’ And I go, ‘It’s your grandma.’ For some reason, I just couldn’t say that line for like an hour,” Harbour recalled.
He continued, laughing:
“I laughed and laughed to the point where Millie and Finn were like, ‘What is wrong with you? We need to get to work.’ I was very irresponsible that day, but honestly, it’s one of my favorite memories.”
Despite being known for his professionalism, Harbour admitted that the blooper remains one of the few times he completely lost composure on set.
Harbour and Brown’s Father-Daughter Bond
Harbour and Brown’s chemistry on-screen as Hopper and Eleven has been a cornerstone of Stranger Things since the show’s debut in 2016. Over the years, their bond has grown both on and off camera.
Netflix even shared a touching video of the pair’s red carpet entrance, captioning:
“David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown arrive together for one last Stranger Things premiere 🥹.”
The actor reflected on his connection with Brown during earlier interviews, describing it as “like a real father-daughter relationship — full of love, frustration, and deep care.”
At PaleyFest Los Angeles in 2018, Brown shared similar sentiments:
“We went through so many emotions — we’d get angry at each other, laugh together, and cry together. It was raw and real, and that’s why those scenes felt so honest.”
Behind the Scenes of a Cultural Phenomenon
Since its debut, Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most successful series, known for its nostalgic 1980s setting, emotional storytelling, and tight-knit cast.
Season 5, the final chapter of the sci-fi phenomenon, continues the story in the fall of 1987, as the residents of Hawkins face their most terrifying threat yet — the return of Vecna.
The Duffer Brothers have promised that the final season will deliver “the biggest and most emotional” moments of the series, bringing every character arc full circle.
Premiere Night Highlights
At the Season 5 world premiere, Harbour, Brown, and the rest of the cast — including Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and Charlie Heaton — celebrated their decade-long journey.
Fans flooded social media with clips of Harbour and Brown’s affectionate red-carpet reunion, praising their genuine connection and reminiscing about their character’s evolution from Season 1 to now.
