Faridabad: The ongoing investigation into the deadly Red Fort blast has led police and central agencies to examine a Maruti Brezza (HR87U9988) found parked at Al-Falah University in Dhauj, Faridabad. The university, already under intense scrutiny in the probe, has become a focal point due to links with several doctors allegedly connected to the terror module involved in the attack.
The inspection of the Brezza follows the tracing of two other vehicles tied to suspects in the blast case. A red EcoSport, registered at Delhi’s Rajouri Garden RTO, was found outside a farmhouse belonging to an acquaintance of Dr Umar Nabi near Khandawali village, on the outskirts of Faridabad, on Wednesday. Dr Umar, a key suspect, was reportedly driving the Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort on Monday evening, killing at least ten people.
During the probe at Al-Falah University, officials conducted checks on over 30 vehicles parked on the campus, verifying ownership documents and cross-referencing registration records. “Over 30 cars parked in the medical college premises have been checked, and ownership documents are being verified,” said Faridabad Police spokesperson Yashpal Singh. He added that the Maruti Brezza was being examined by the Jammu and Kashmir Police as part of the ongoing investigation.
According to vehicle registration documents accessed by authorities, the Brezza Lxi is registered in the name of Dr Shaheen Shahid, with both permanent and correspondence addresses listed as Al-Falah School of Medical Science in Faridabad. Dr Shaheen is among the doctors already implicated in the case for allegedly being part of the “white collar” terror module with ties to Pakistan-based extremist organisations.
Investigators suspect that vehicles associated with the accused doctors may have been used to transport explosive materials or for logistics related to the Red Fort blast. Authorities are meticulously scanning registration details, CCTV footage, and entry and exit logs of all vehicles parked in the medical college and hostel areas to establish any direct links with the attack.
Security measures have been intensified across the Dhauj and Khandawali zones, with multiple agencies coordinating to ensure the probe proceeds without obstruction. The focus on Al-Falah University comes after three doctors, including Dr Umar, were identified as key figures allegedly involved in the terror module and the procurement or handling of explosives.
The Delhi-NCR police and central investigation teams continue to track all possible leads, including vehicle movements, communication records, and financial transactions, to piece together the logistics behind the attack. Authorities have maintained that the investigation is ongoing and that all individuals associated with the suspected terror network will be interrogated as part of the multi-agency operation.
The Maruti Brezza inspection marks another significant step in the investigation, highlighting the extensive efforts being undertaken to uncover the network of suspects and prevent any further threats linked to the blast.
