The award-winning voice actor shares his behind-the-scenes vocal care methods and his dream projects for the future.
Aleks Le Opens Up About His Vocal Health Routine
Aleks Le, the rising star known for his powerful performances as Zenitsu Agatsuma in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Sung Jinwoo in Solo Leveling, recently revealed how he manages to maintain his voice through long, grueling studio sessions filled with intense screaming and emotional delivery.
In a new interview with The Wrap, the 26-year-old voice actor discussed his strategies for preserving his vocal strength despite the demanding roles that often require “intense yelling lines.”
“The best thing you can do to protect yourself is to ask the production people to break your sessions up into two-hour chunks,” Le explained. “Or just reallocate certain very intense yelling lines to the end of the session so that you can at least preserve most of your voice in the beginning.”
He added, “There are safe ways to scream and there are also times where you can’t safely scream. It really just depends on how you pace yourself, what you prioritize in your own performance, and how much you know about your own voice.”
How Aleks Le Keeps His Voice in Top Form
Voice acting in popular shonen anime like Demon Slayer and Solo Leveling often requires performers to deliver explosive emotion and volume. Le’s approach highlights the importance of vocal pacing, rest, and awareness for longevity in the industry.
The actor also mentioned that protecting one’s voice comes down to personal knowledge and technique:
“If you know enough about your own voice, you’ll know how to protect it.”
His dedication to the craft and attention to vocal safety has allowed him to deliver consistently top-tier performances in some of anime’s most action-packed roles.
From Solo Leveling to Awards Recognition
Aleks Le’s careful vocal management has clearly paid off. At the 5th Astra TV Awards earlier this year, he won Best Lead Voice-Over Performance for his work on Solo Leveling Season 2.
In his heartfelt acceptance speech, the Vietnam-born actor reflected on his journey from learning English at age 10 to winning a major voice acting award:
“This is the most surreal thing that could happen to someone like me.”
Le’s portrayal of Sung Jinwoo, the “world’s weakest hunter” who becomes humanity’s strongest defender, has been praised by fans and critics alike. The Solo Leveling anime, adapted from Chugong and DUBU’s web novel and webtoon, follows Jinwoo as he gains extraordinary powers through a mysterious “system,” transforming him into a supernatural powerhouse.
The series’ second season premiered in January 2025 and currently streams on Crunchyroll, with 25 episodes available.
Dream Roles and Future Goals
Despite his recent success, Aleks Le isn’t slowing down. During the same interview, he expressed his desire to work on adaptations of Takehiko Inoue’s critically acclaimed manga Real and Vagabond.
“If they ever adapted those, I would love to play the leads in them,” Le shared. “I feel that I’ve already done all I wanted to do with anime.”
As for what comes next, the actor hopes to originate a new franchise or IP:
“To originate an IP and be part of the process from the very beginning is something I’ve always wanted to do.”
A Bright Future for Anime’s Rising Star
Between his standout performances in Solo Leveling, Demon Slayer, and beyond, Aleks Le continues to establish himself as one of anime’s most versatile and dedicated voice actors. His commitment to vocal health and his passion for storytelling ensure that his voice will continue to be heard for years to come — safely and powerfully.
