Self-styled seer Dhirendra Shastri addressed speculation about his marriage on Wednesday, revealing that while he is not personally arranging the wedding, his family members are taking care of the preparations. Speaking to ANI, Shastri said that he is unaware of the exact date, but his family is actively trying to make the marriage happen.
During the interview, Shastri recalled an incident earlier this year in February, when Prime Minister Narendra Modiattended an event inaugurating a cancer hospital at Bageshwar Dham and sat beside Shastri’s mother. According to Shastri, PM Modi reassured his mother regarding her son’s marriage, saying: “I am like an elder brother to him… leave his worries to me. Are you worried about his marriage?… His wedding will happen.”
On the timing of the marriage, Shastri said, “I don’t know when they will do it, but they will,” clarifying that the arrangements are being handled entirely by his family.
Shastri on PM Modi and Politics
The spiritual leader also spoke warmly about his relationship with the Prime Minister, describing it as cordial and brotherly. He praised Modi’s dedication to the nation, saying, “It’s very difficult for the country to have a Prime Minister like him… India’s vision of Mission 2047 is unprecedented.”
At the same time, Shastri emphasized his political neutrality, asserting that he is not aligned with any political party. “We have no alignment with any party; all political parties are ours because there are Hindus in all parties. My relations with Congress are very good,” he said.
Shastri’s comments come amid growing public curiosity about the personal life of the spiritual preacher, who has gained national prominence for his religious discourses and community engagements. While he remains tight-lipped on the exact wedding date, it is clear that family and tradition are taking the lead in planning the ceremony.
