Diaspora Investors Demand Action Over Stalled Lekki Real Estate Project

Subscribers of RevolutionPlus Property are calling for urgent government intervention after years of delays and alleged financial mismanagement in the Flourish Apartment and Terraces project in Lekki, Lagos.

Investors, many of whom are Nigerians living abroad, described the project as a “mirage,” with promised homes remaining undelivered despite full payments. Dr. Alex Adelesoye, a medical practitioner in the Middle East, expressed frustration that the company has failed to honour agreements dating back to 2020–2021.

Other subscribers shared similar experiences. Thelma Egunjobi, based in Europe, revealed she invested over ₦40 million for a three-bedroom terrace that remains undelivered. Prince Yellowe, a U.S.-based investor, reported paying ₦65 million in 2022 and additional funds exceeding ₦100 million, yet the property remains incomplete.

Investors allege repeated requests for additional payments, which they complied with, but still received no meaningful progress. Site inspections conducted on January 12, 2026, reportedly showed minimal construction activity, contradicting the company’s claim of “massive ongoing work.”

When contacted, RevolutionPlus Managing Director Bamidele Onalaja stated the project was ongoing but did not explain the prolonged delay. Subscribers insist that the firm has done nothing significant since 2022.

The situation has escalated to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which initiated a formal investigation. Despite a partial resolution involving additional payments from subscribers and a revised delivery date set for December 2025, the property remains uninhabitable.

Investors warn that frequent defaults by developers like RevolutionPlus undermine diaspora confidence, creating “dead capital” and deterring future investment in Nigeria’s real estate sector.
