‘Don’t Water Down My Years of Hard Work’ – Young John Responds to Critics

Nigerian singer John Saviours Udomboso, professionally known as Young John, has called on critics to refrain from undermining his talent and the years of effort he has invested in his music career.

The appeal comes after the singer faced backlash from some fans who described his music as “monotonous.”

In response, Young John urged detractors to simply skip his music rather than belittling his work.

“If you’re not a fan of my work, leave it at that! Don’t come here and water down my years of hard work!” he wrote on X.

Young John began his career as a music producer in 2010, rising to prominence through his affiliation with Olamide’s YBNL family.

He later transitioned into singing after signing a recording deal with Chocolate City in 2022. His single “Dada” quickly became a hit, and the remix featuring Davido further cemented his reputation as a rising star in the Nigerian music scene.
