Drama as Taye Arimoro and Peggy Ovire Clash on Movie Set

Nollywood stars Taye Arimoro and Peggy Ovire have sparked controversy after a heated altercation reportedly broke out on a movie set, leading to accusations and counter-accusations between the two actors.

According to reports, the incident occurred during the late hours of filming when Taye Arimoro attempted to leave the set after his contract time had expired. Arimoro claimed that Peggy Ovire and her team allegedly prevented him from leaving, blocking his car and physically assaulting him.

In an Instagram Live video shared by the actor, he appeared with visible injuries on his lips and gum, claiming he was attacked while trying to exit the location.

Peggy Ovire Denies Assault Allegation

Responding to the viral video, Peggy Ovire refuted the allegations, saying that Arimoro was the aggressor during the incident.

She alleged that the actor assaulted two crew members who were pleading with him to complete a few remaining scenes before wrapping up the shoot.

“Taye, you beat up two crew members simply because you felt they had no voice — no social media presence, no one to speak for them. They were only begging you to complete two short scenes so we could close the night,” Peggy said.

She further accused Taye of physically attacking the production manager, claiming he punched him three times before the situation escalated.

Conflicting Accounts and On-Set Chaos

Peggy Ovire also alleged that the confrontation intensified when Taye’s driver got involved, leaving her own driver injured and bleeding from the ear.

However, she denied ever instructing anyone to block Arimoro’s car, insisting that the actor drove off abruptly while she was still beside the vehicle.

The disagreement has since gone viral on social media, with fans and industry colleagues divided over both parties’ accounts.

Industry Reaction

While neither actor has issued a formal statement beyond their social media posts, sources on set have reportedly confirmed that production has been temporarily suspended as investigations continue.

The incident has reignited conversations about professional conduct and conflict management within the Nigerian film industry.
