‘Drunk’ MP Cop Rams SUVs Into Vehicles; Teacher Killed, Son Loses Legs

Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh: A Madhya Pradesh sub-inspector allegedly rammed his SUV into multiple motorcycles on Friday night, killing a college teacher and seriously injuring his 10-year-old son, whose legs had to be amputated. Three others were also injured in the crash.

The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Dasharath Singh, a college teacher. His son Harshit suffered grievous leg injuries, while his wife Lalita (35) and daughter Jaya (6) sustained injuries. Another motorcyclist, Bhupaal Singh, was also hurt. Several motorcycles were damaged in the collision.

The accused, sub-inspector Manoj Yadav, allegedly driving under the influence, was suspended following the incident. He was produced in court on Saturday and granted bail. Authorities are awaiting medical reports to confirm intoxication at the time of the accident.

The crash occurred near Bhadbhadia village on the Neemuch-Jawad road, when Yadav allegedly lost control of his Bolero and collided with the two-wheelers. The family of the deceased staged a protest demanding strict action and financial compensation.

A case has been registered against Yadav for causing death by rash and negligent driving, according to Cantonment City SP Kiran Chouhan.
