The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched an internal probe following claims by Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Olabode Oladimeji (Oladips) that some of its operatives extorted N10 million from him prior to his release.
Oladips made the allegation after being arrested alongside other suspected internet fraudsters. The claim has drawn public attention and prompted the EFCC to respond.
In a statement, the EFCC said:
- It takes the allegation seriously and has summoned the officers involved to its headquarters.
 - Those officers have been relieved of operational duties pending the investigation.
 - The agency emphasized that integrity is a core value and that any staff found guilty will face sanctions.
 - Conversely, if the rapper’s claims are proven false, he could face consequences for tarnishing the agency’s image.

The EFCC urged the public to remain calm and assured that the outcome of the investigation would be made public in due course.
