The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has commenced a digital membership e-registration exercise aimed at modernising the party’s membership database and mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking at the Train-the-Trainers session in Ado Ekiti, APC State Chairman Sola Elesin said the initiative will help rebuild the party’s support base, ensure accurate membership data, and strengthen strategic planning.
Elesin noted that the party’s performance in the last presidential election revealed gaps in member participation. “Prior to the election, we expected about 50 million party members to vote, but the result showed just over 11 million votes for Mr President. This highlighted the need for accurate data on actual party members,” he explained.
Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, the state coordinator for e-registration, added that the programme seeks to digitalise existing membership records, promote transparency, and enhance service delivery. He emphasised that members will be able to access and verify their registration via mobile devices, eliminating discrepancies in party membership figures.
“We expect members across all 177 wards to register. With strong participation, we anticipate 70 to 80 percent of Ekiti APC members to complete the process,” Adedayo said.
State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Taiwo Olatubosun, praised the leadership for initiating the e-registration, highlighting its importance for proper planning, documentation, and mobilisation ahead of the 2026 governorship election. He described the process as a demonstration of APC’s commitment to accountability and trustworthiness.
