Etinosa Idemudia Urges Nigerians Abroad to Regularly Check on Aging Parents

Nollywood actress and producer Etinosa Idemudia has urged Nigerians living far from home to make a conscious effort to stay in touch with their parents, highlighting the loneliness many elderly parents experience when their children relocate abroad.

Sharing her thoughts on social media, Etinosa reflected on the emotional gap that often forms as children grow up, pursue careers, marry, and start families. She emphasized that while adulthood comes with responsibilities, it should not lead to neglecting the parents who made sacrifices to raise them.

Etinosa noted that many parents hope their children will surround them in old age, but reality often unfolds differently. She wrote:

“If you and your siblings live very far from your parents, please try to check on your parents regularly. I know you are busy with your new life, career, and kids, but don’t forget when they were young, they gave birth thinking, ‘When I’m old, I will not be lonely. My children will surround me,’ but reality hits different… especially old ones with children abroad.”

Her message serves as a reminder to prioritize family connections and emotional support, even amidst life’s demands.
