A close associate of late Afrobeats singer Destiny Boy has spoken out amid growing speculation surrounding the artiste’s death, urging the public to avoid spreading unverified information.

In a video shared online, the associate disclosed that the young singer had been battling an undisclosed illness before his passing and that concerted efforts were made to manage his condition.

According to him, Destiny Boy’s death was not sudden neglect, as medical care and support were reportedly provided before he passed away.

“I want to do this video before people start spreading wrong information about what killed Destiny Boy. He had an illness he was managing before he died, and everything possible was done, but it was God’s wish,” he said.

He further offered prayers for the family the singer left behind, especially his young child, while reflecting on the inevitability of death.

“May God look after the son and family he left behind. Death is inevitable for everyone; our prayer should be to live a long and purposeful life,” he added.
