Faridabad Assault: Woman Gang-Raped Inside Ambulance, Say Police

Faridabad: Police have revealed disturbing new details in the case of a 25-year-old woman who was sexually assaulted earlier this week. Investigators said the crime was committed inside a private hospital’s ambulance, not a van as initially reported.

A senior officer confirmed that the two accused were employed as a driver and helper on the ambulance of a private hospital. Both men—one from Mathura and the other from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh—have been arrested and are in judicial custody.

The woman remains hospitalised six days after the incident. A video purportedly showing the victim has surfaced online, in which she recounts the harrowing experience. She said that after giving her a lift, one of the accused transferred ₹600 to her PayTM account before locking the ambulance and snatching her mobile phone. She described the scene: “There was dense fog at night. I cried out loud, but there was no help.”

Sequence of Events

According to police reports:

  • The woman went to a friend’s house in Sector 23, Faridabad, on Monday evening.
  • While returning home, she took an auto-rickshaw to NIT 2 Chowk and then walked to Metro Chowk.
  • Around midnight, as she waited for transport, the two accused offered her a lift.
  • Instead of taking her home, they drove towards Gurugram, where she was raped inside the moving ambulance.
  • The victim was thrown near Raja Chowk, Faridabad, around 3 am on Tuesday.

Investigation and Next Steps

  • Once the survivor recovers, she will participate in an identification parade before a magistrate.
  • The accused will also face questioning under a production warrant from jail.

Police emphasized the brutality of the incident and assured that the case is being handled with utmost priority.

This incident has sparked outrage and renewed calls for stricter safety measures for women in public and private transport.
