FG Vows Swift Rescue of Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls, Reaffirms Duty to Protect Citizens

The Federal Government has expressed deep concern over the abduction of female students from Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, Kebbi State, promising urgent action to secure their release.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, reiterated that the protection of every Nigerian, particularly schoolchildren, is a core responsibility of the State. He condemned the attack on the students and the killing of school officials in the line of duty.

Security and intelligence agencies have been directed to locate and safely return the abducted students, while ensuring that those responsible face justice. The government stressed it will not relent until the girls are rescued.

Strengthening internal security remains a top priority, with the Federal Government recalibrating military, policing, and intelligence operations to prevent attacks and respond rapidly to threats.

In addition, Nigeria is stepping up regional cooperation through ECOWAS, the African Union, and the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) to secure borders and dismantle criminal and terrorist networks. The public has been urged to remain calm and confident in the government’s response.
