Four years after his mysterious disappearance, a former undergraduate of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Shafiu Auwal Ibrahim, has been found in Kaduna, living with an Islamic scholar.

Shafiu, a former resident of Janbulo area in Kano, went missing in 2021, leaving his parents, relatives, and friends in distress. Years of searching yielded no results, and his family had eventually feared he was dead.

Recently, the family resumed their search and discovered Shafiu residing in a village with an Islamic cleric, who claimed to have found him some time ago.

According to a relative, “He was found in a village in Kaduna with a cleric who said he found him a long time ago. The cleric explained that when he first met Shafiu, he seemed to be mentally unstable.”

Shafiu’s family expressed immense relief and joy upon his return, confirming that he is now healthy and calm at home.
