RABAT, November 27, 2025 – French law enforcement official Lucas Philippe was elected as the new president of Interpol, the global police organization, during the agency’s general assembly in Marrakech. Philippe will serve a four-year term, leading the international body that coordinates police cooperation across 192 member countries.

The election took place at Interpol’s general assembly, which brought together 886 participants representing 179 member countries and 34 international organizations. The assembly addressed pressing global law enforcement issues including:

• Scam centers and fraud networks
