The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that its members will start implementing the recent fuel price reduction by Dangote Refinery from Tuesday, continuing into next week.
IPMAN spokesperson Chinedu Ukadike told DAILY POST that Nigerians would soon feel the impact of the lower petrol prices.
This follows Dangote Refinery’s reduction of its gantry price by N129, bringing it down from N828 to N699 per liter. According to Aliko Dangote, Nigerians should be paying around N740 per liter at retail.
“From Tuesday and next week, you will see the reactions and dividends of this reduction in petroleum price,” Dangote said.
Commenting on the ongoing feud between Dangote and the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) CEO Farouk Ahmed, Ukadike emphasized the need for collaboration to ensure steady petroleum supply and allow Nigerians to enjoy the reduced prices.
A DAILY POST market survey in Abuja revealed mixed responses from fuel stations:
- Bovas Filling Station (Wuse Zone 6): N865 per liter (down from N910)
- Empire Energy and Ranoil (Gwarimpa): N912 and N910 per liter
- NIPCO and AA Rano stations: N915, N905, and N910 per liter
- MRS retail price: Remains at N910 but expected to drop from Tuesday
The price adjustments reflect ongoing efforts to pass the benefits of Dangote Refinery’s reduction to the public.
