Nollywood superstar Funke Akindele has once again made history with her latest film, Behind The Scene, which has earned a total of N512 million at the box office.

The film, which premiered a few weeks ago, quickly became the fastest Nollywood movie to reach N500 million and also emerged as the top-performing film over its opening weekend. Akindele promoted the movie internationally, taking some cast members abroad for promotional activities, contributing to its wide reach and audience engagement.

According to Filmone, the film’s success reflects the strong support from West African audiences, who turned out in large numbers. Fans praised the movie for its emotional depth, with many describing it as a moving and memorable experience. Admirers lauded Akindele as a “trailblazer” and “one of the realest” in Nollywood.

This record is not new for Akindele. In 2024, her film Everyone Loves Jennifa grossed N513 million, also setting records for being the fastest Nollywood movie to reach N500 million and the top-grossing film of its release weekend.
