Gaza Death Toll Exceeds 70,000 Amid Ongoing Israeli Attacks

Gaza City, Gaza Strip – November 29, 2025 – The death toll in Gaza has surpassed 70,000 as Israeli military operations continue, even after a United States-brokered ceasefire with Hamas took effect last month, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, more than 70,100 people have been killed across the Gaza Strip, with over 170,900 wounded, the ministry reported on Saturday.

Recent Attacks

Earlier on Saturday, Israeli drones targeted the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, killing two Palestinian children. Witnesses said the drones struck near al-Farabi School, killing brothers Juma and Fadi Tamer Abu Assi, who were taken to Nasser Medical Complex but later pronounced dead.

The strike reportedly occurred beyond the “Yellow Line”, the boundary marking Israeli redeployment under the ceasefire agreement that started October 10.

Additional Israeli military operations on Saturday included ground, naval, and air attacks across several areas:

  • Al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis – three Palestinians were injured by artillery and air bombardment.
  • Tuffah neighborhood, east Gaza City – air raids carried out Saturday morning.
  • Rafah, eastern areas – targeted by Israeli strikes.

Ismail al-Thawabta, director of Gaza’s Government Media Office, said on Friday that 535 violations by Israeli forces have been documented since the ceasefire took effect. He warned:

“The humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating at an unprecedented rate, and the Israeli operations have destroyed infrastructure and essential services.”

The ongoing attacks highlight fragile ceasefire conditions and underscore the humanitarian crisis facing Gaza, with medical and civil infrastructure under severe strain.
