
Globacom (Glo) has restored its data services after a nationwide outage on Tuesday that left millions of subscribers without internet access for several hours.
The disruption, which began around 8:30 a.m. on December 9, 2025, affected connectivity across multiple states and sparked widespread frustration among users.
In an official statement, Glo confirmed the incident and issued an apology:
“Earlier today, a data service outage occurred nationwide, affecting connectivity across multiple locations. The outage, which started at 08:30 a.m., has now been resolved. We understand how important reliable data access is to you and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience.”
The telecommunications company added that its technical team had completed recovery efforts and that data services had been fully restored nationwide.
“Our technical team has completed the recovery work, and services have been fully restored across all affected areas. Thank you for your patience and for choosing Glo. We truly appreciate you,” the statement read.
Earlier reports indicated that subscribers across Nigeria experienced difficulty accessing the internet or completing online transactions during the outage. Glo reiterated its apology in a message to customers, assuring them that steps were taken promptly to address the issue.
