Goa Tourism Department to Hold Roadshow in Bahrain to Promote State Tourism

Panaji: In a bid to strengthen ties with the Gulf tourism market and enhance Goa’s global visibility, the Goa Tourism Department announced that it will organise a roadshow in Bahrain on November 23. The initiative aims to deepen engagement with travel trade partners, promote year-round tourism, and introduce Bahrain’s travel industry to the evolving landscape of tourism in the state, a senior official said on Wednesday.

State Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte highlighted the importance of the Gulf region as a strategic market for Goa. “Bahrain and the larger Gulf region hold immense potential for Goa. Through this roadshow, we aim to present a refined version of Goa that is rooted in culture yet contemporary in its tourism approach,” he said. Khaunte further emphasized that the state government is positioning Goa as a global destination capable of catering to diverse traveller preferences—from adventure enthusiasts to those seeking tranquillity, wellness, and rejuvenation—through carefully curated tourism campaigns.

State Tourism Director Kedar Naik noted that the roadshow represents a significant step in expanding Goa’s visibility across the Gulf region. “Travellers from this region appreciate quality, diversity, and authenticity, values that Goa proudly offers,” he said. Naik added that the government’s updated strategies, along with the integration of emerging tourism trends, aim to provide travellers with a richer and more curated experience of the state.

The roadshow will prominently feature the “Feels Like Goa” campaign, an elevated storytelling initiative designed to present the state as a destination offering diverse experiences. According to Naik, the campaign showcases Goa’s cultural heritage while highlighting modern tourism offerings.

As part of the engagement, Goa Tourism will introduce three emerging global travel trends incorporated into the state’s tourism blueprint:

  1. Nocto Tourism – This trend focuses on structured nightlife offerings, entertainment districts, enhanced safety frameworks, and live cultural experiences across the state. It seeks to spotlight Goa’s dynamic and vibrant nocturnal scene, appealing to travellers seeking immersive evening experiences.
  2. Jet-Setting – Aimed at promoting cinematic tourism, this trend highlights Goa’s growing footprint as a destination for film shoots. The initiative encourages film-inspired travel, positioning the state as a hub for cinematic tourism where visitors can experience locations featured in movies, television productions, and web series.
  3. CalmCation – This trend emphasizes wellness and restorative travel. It highlights yoga and Ayurveda experiences, nature-immersive escapes, serene hinterland getaways, and wellness retreats designed to provide travellers with opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Through these campaigns, the Goa Tourism Department seeks to reinforce the state’s image as a versatile destination that combines cultural heritage, natural beauty, adventure, and modern leisure experiences.

The roadshow in Bahrain will bring together industry stakeholders, travel agents, tour operators, and other tourism partners to explore collaboration opportunities. Officials said it is expected to generate increased awareness and stimulate inbound travel from the Gulf region, which remains an important source market for the state’s tourism sector.

By promoting Goa as a destination that seamlessly blends cultural richness with contemporary travel experiences, the government aims to attract a diverse spectrum of tourists while fostering sustainable growth for the local tourism ecosystem.
