Gov Adeleke Pledges Faith, Seeks Support for Re-election in Osun

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence that with God and the support of the people, he will secure re-election later this year.

Speaking at the state’s New Year inter-religious prayer event, which brought together labour leaders, religious leaders, and state workers, Governor Adeleke highlighted the achievements of his administration over the past three years and expressed optimism about overcoming challenges ahead.

“Our God is our sustainer, defender, and protector. From the beginning to date, God has fought our battles, granting us victories over obstacles and challenges. We stand as a government blessed by divine grace,” he said.

Governor Adeleke outlined his administration’s accomplishments, noting initiatives that have benefited citizens across sectors. He highlighted support for senior citizens and the poor, road and bridge rehabilitation, assistance for artisans, and interventions in education and health. He also emphasized progress in resolving salary and pension arrears despite challenging circumstances.

“We have ensured that Osun money circulates within the state, eased the burden on investors, and remained faithful to our promise of running a government of the people, by the people, and for the people,” Adeleke added.

The Governor’s address received backing from labour leaders, with the Osun NLC Chairman, Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, reaffirming the labour movement’s commitment to vote en masse for his re-election on August 8, 2026.

Religious leaders, including the Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Musa Animasaun, and the State CAN Chairman, Dr. John Adeleke, praised the Governor’s devotion to God and prayed for divine intervention to ease the challenges of governance and the re-election process.
