The incident occurred in a residential society in Sector 150, highlighting the tragic escalation of a troubled relationship.

The deceased has been identified as Duck Hee Yuh, who worked as a branch manager with a private firm in Greater Noida. According to police reports, Yuh had been in a live-in relationship with the woman, Lunjeana Pamai, a native of Manipur, for approximately two years.

Incident Details

The Greater Noida police were alerted to the case when GIMS Hospital sent a memo reporting that a foreign national had been brought in dead on arrivalAdditional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Sudhir Kumar said the authorities immediately initiated an inquiry upon reaching the hospital.

Preliminary findings suggest that the couple’s relationship was marked by frequent quarrels, often revolving around the man’s drinking habits. On the night of the incident, tensions reportedly escalated during an argument, leading to Pamai allegedly attacking Yuh with a knife. The victim sustained critical injuries and later succumbed at the hospital.

“The woman was arrested on Sunday after a case was registered at Knowledge Park police station and was presented before the court on Monday,” ADCP Kumar said. The local court subsequently remanded her to 14 days of judicial custody.

Background of the Relationship

According to police sources, Pamai and Yuh first met at a party about two years ago, after which they decided to live together in a live-in arrangement. Their relationship, however, reportedly became strained over time due to recurring disputes and personal differences.

Police confirmed that Pamai is currently unemployed. Following the incident, she reportedly took Yuh to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The authorities have sent the body for post-mortem examination after completing legal formalities.

Investigation Underway

The police have stated that the investigation is ongoing. They are examining the circumstances leading to the fatal incident and are likely to consider factors such as the couple’s history of arguments, potential provocation, and the role of alcohol in the altercation.

ADCP Kumar emphasized that the case is being treated seriously, given the involvement of a foreign national and the violent nature of the incident. Authorities are coordinating with local administration and possibly the South Korean consulate to provide updates and support regarding the case.

This tragic incident has highlighted concerns surrounding live-in relationships and domestic disputes, especially those that escalate to fatal violence. Law enforcement officials have urged couples to resolve conflicts through dialogue and seek assistance from authorities when necessary, stressing that violent behavior has legal consequences.

Next Steps

The 14-day judicial custody period will allow investigators to conduct a detailed inquiry, including recording statements, examining the knife used in the attack, and reviewing any evidence from the residential society. The police are expected to file a chargesheet once preliminary investigations are complete.

The community in Sector 150 expressed shock over the incident, citing that the couple had appeared normal in publicdespite underlying tensions. Authorities are also reportedly reviewing security and surveillance footage from the residential society to corroborate timelines and events of the night.

The incident serves as a grim reminder of the potential consequences of unresolved domestic conflicts and the importance of mental health and relationship counseling, especially in live-in arrangements.

The police have assured the public that justice will be served, and they are working to ensure a thorough investigationinto the fatal incident involving Duck Hee Yuh and Lunjeana Pamai.
