As part of its ongoing dedication to community service and the well-being of the elderly, the Women in Out of Home Advertising Business (WOHAN) recently paid a visit to the Old People’s Home in Yaba, Lagos.
The team was warmly welcomed by the facility’s dedicated caregiver, who provided a guided tour of the home. During the tour, the WOHAN members gained a deeper understanding of the daily routines, welfare needs, and general living conditions of the elderly residents. The caregiver’s compassion and commitment to the residents were evident and highly commendable.
WOHAN members also took the time to interact closely with the elderly citizens. The atmosphere was filled with joy as they sang familiar songs together, exchanged words of encouragement, and shared moments of warmth and bonding.
The visit helped create a lively and emotionally uplifting experience for both the residents and the visitors, showcasing the positive impact of such community engagements.
As part of their efforts to support the elderly residents, WOHAN made generous donations aimed at improving the comfort and well-being of the home’s inhabitants. The donated items included fruits, food supplies, a 250-liter deep freezer, Wi-Fi support, adult diapers, toiletries, a 25kg gas cylinder, and other essential household goods, all identified by the facility’s management.
Mrs. Adeola Odesanya, the coordinator of WOHAN, expressed her satisfaction with the visit, calling it both fulfilling and impactful. She highlighted that it aligned with WOHAN’s mission of compassion, service, and social responsibility.
“The smiles, prayers, and appreciation from the elderly residents were a strong reminder of the importance of caring for and honoring our senior citizens,” Odesanya said. She further reiterated WOHAN’s commitment to supporting vulnerable groups and exploring more opportunities to contribute meaningfully to community development.
